Dear Artist:

Thank you for your interest in our 14th Annual Juried Outdoor Fine Art Show on the Montauk Green. Our fee for each 12' x 12' space is $200. We are unable to make our Green any larger than it already is, so we can only host 75 artists and only a limited number of additional spaces are available. $50 of each space sold is used to increase our funds for our show's promotion.

Last year we blitzed the media with verticle half page ads in all our local newspapers East of Westhampton. The Sag Harbor , NY, Radio and Hamptons Television ran coverage through the previous weekend and the week before the Show. The Thursday and Friday before the show were blitzed. All three TV stations came on board with Community Service coverage. One did artists' interviews the Thursday before the Show, another filmed an hour feature that showed Saturday night and Sunday morning of the show's weekend. The third did poster shots for the week before. And we had space on the IGA check-out screens in Montauk and East Hampton.

Everyone in the Hamptons knows about the show. Residents, visitors and dealers drive out to Montauk to see the artwork and participate by purchasing in record numbers. We have become a recognized International Art Market and most of our artists report that they had very good sales. But sales are never guaranteed. Our jury looks, not only at the quality of the work submitted, but also pays attention to what can sell in the Montauk to New York City area.

After the show, we send out questionaires to all our participants. We have paid attention to all who replied. From the mundane...with such an increase in audience, trash cans and porta-pots should be more numerous well...to the ratio of photographers to painters. One person wanted us to run the show in July because there are fewer shows to compete with. But the money is in the Hamptons in August. We questioned how the digital designers fit into the whole. Without exception, the thought was that digital photographers were photographers, digital painters were painters. It makes both more diverse.

The quality of the art that was shown here was amazing. We feel vey honored that the best of the best want to be here to show and sell. So again we are running with the momentum of the successes of the past years and we are looking forward to your joining us.

Sincerely,

Anne Weissman, Event Director
